Trademarks
Nine Trademarks have been identified to date with respect to Parrot & Company.
The original trademark registered in circa1921 showed the distinctive parrot emblem with the words "Registered Trademark" beneath the shield. By circa 1935 the parrot emblem was slightly modified and the words "Made in England" added below the Trademark text. However for "work in progress" the bottom of the wares were overstamped "Made in England".
As "specialist" ware lines were added, new trademarks were developed with the addition of the range name above the parrot and shield.Trademarks have been found in black, blue, green, brown and gold, the significance, if any, has not been established to date.
With dinner services or multi-item sets a trademark wasn't always added to every piece in the set. Often only one or two items were marked but can be associated by their outstanding patterns.
